Jakarta, again and again

The last time I was in Jakarta was this February, on Valentine's Day to be exact. More of a stopover really, because I was headed to Bandung. As soon as I landed at CGK I rushed straight to the high-speed train to Bandung.

What I felt, the memories I went through, the overthinking that kept me up all night, the anxiety that killed any will to work. February to May felt like hell.

But in the end I decided to go to Jakarta on 28 May 2025. I pulled myself together a bit and got ready for, okay, one last meeting. Hahahaha.

Turns out I'm weak. But it's okay. One day I'll tell my friends about all these stupid, sad, painful experiences over a Small Hazy, and we'll end up laughing our heads off.

The one thing I don't want to forget is what it feels like to "love". Love is for stupid and crazy people, but I don't want to forget it. Maybe the love was for someone who isn't the right one yet, but never give up.

Wait, why am I suddenly talking about love and pouring my heart out, haha.

One of the reasons I went to Jakarta is that I really want to move to JKT. I want to learn about life and work. Life in Bali is the same old thing, like there's no challenge. I had a few interviews with companies in JKT but sadly didn't get in. Maybe my salary ask was too high, or I didn't fit the company. Or maybe Bali just wants me to stay (?)

One memory is stuck in my head. Riding a GoJek, I got all nostalgic listening to Gengsi Gede-Gedean while cruising through Jakarta, looking up at the tall buildings, getting yelled at in a traffic jam by some guy on a motorbike. Life in a big city looks hard. Will this be my last time in JKT?

Oh, and does anyone know how this soap opera ends?

This time I also finally got to try Duck Down. Friends have recommended it so many times, and they were right, it's sooo good!! The songs fit our age and our era, and so does the playlist.
